Invest in yourself

Starting therapy is such a brave thing to do. Congratulations on taking this first step. I hope that we can create a space for you that feels supportive and encouraging. A saying that I hear often in sessions is “I’m so broken”, but my experience tells me that couldn’t be further from the truth. It is human nature to try to get our needs met and do the best we can in the moment. One of my favorite things to do with clients is to discover how we have learned certain behaviors, and recognize how they helped us. So often we are not reacting to things because we are broken, we are reacting because we are simply smart. Once we move to understanding, we can learn different ways of reacting that match our new settings and relationships. I would love to be your advocate and help you discover a kinder, gentler way to treat yourself.
